Illustration Notes for Episode Fifty-Nine

This week’s episode introduces two important new characters in the ‘Matt’s Tale’ thread of this story—but the real star of this scene is the cards, for some reasons likely obvious, and for others maybe not so obvious. So they’re what I opted to depict. There is so much more going on here than even Stacy suspects! :]

If you like detective work, there are LOTS of clues here about the story still to come—in fact, there are so many clues, of so many different kinds, at so many different levels, that I found myself chuckling at how much was on display here—so obviously and so invisibly—as I polished up the text for publication this week. Even the actual nature and function of tarot itself is a clue, of sorts. Good luck deciphering them all!
